Is Acupuncture safe during pregnancy?

Yes, acupuncture is safe during pregnancy and is often recommended by many midwives and Obstetricians. There are certain points that need to be avoided until 37 weeks so it is best to seek out an acupuncturist that specializes in Obstetrics.

What is cervical ripening (labour preparation) acupuncture?

Cervical ripening acupuncture is based on a study. The study showed that if you get acupuncture weekly from 37 weeks until you go into labour during labout women were more able to cope, there was less interventions and shorter labour time.

Acupressure is great to use in labour. I teach how to use the points during treatments.
